The British Learning Centre is a warm, respectful place for children to learn, and we’re grateful for the partnership we have with our families. This code sets out what parents and guardians can expect from us, and what we ask of you in return, so that every child, teacher and family enjoys a positive experience.
We ask that parents and guardians:
- Treat our team and other families with courtesy and respect — in person, in messages, and online. We do not tolerate rude, aggressive, threatening or abusive behaviour towards staff, children or other parents.
- Communicate through the proper channels. For questions about lessons, scheduling or fees, please contact the centre team or the School Manager rather than approaching teachers mid-lesson. We aim to respond promptly.
- Support your child’s learning — help them arrive prepared, encourage attendance, and share anything we should know (learning needs, medical information, or things happening at home that may affect them).
- Arrive and collect on time. Please drop off and collect your child punctually, and let us know in advance of any change to collection arrangements. Children must be collected by an authorised adult.
- Respect the safety and privacy of all children. Please follow our safeguarding and sign-in/out arrangements, and do not photograph or film other people’s children. Photos or videos taken at the centre should not be shared publicly without permission.
- Raise concerns constructively. If something isn’t right, please tell us — we welcome feedback and will always try to put things right (see our Complaints policy). Please raise issues with us directly rather than through social media.
- Respect our premises and follow any health, safety and hygiene guidance, including keeping unwell children at home until they are well enough to attend.
What you can expect from us:
- A safe, welcoming and inclusive environment where every child is treated with care and respect.
- Qualified, committed teachers and clear communication about your child’s classes and progress.
- Fair, transparent fees and policies, and a prompt, respectful response to any concern you raise.
If this code is not upheld
In the rare event of serious or repeated breaches — for example abusive behaviour towards our team or other families — the British Learning Centre reserves the right to restrict communication channels or, as a last resort, to end a family’s enrolment. We would always seek to resolve matters through conversation first.
