Wycombe Abbey International School Bangkok
About Wycombe Abbey Bangkok
A British boarding school heritage, now in Bangkok
Wycombe Abbey International School Bangkok brings one of the United Kingdom's most respected academic institutions to Thailand. The original Wycombe Abbey was founded in 1896 in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, by Dame Frances Dove, and has spent well over a century building a reputation for rigorous academics combined with a genuinely holistic approach to pupil development — around 28% of its UK graduates go on to Oxford or Cambridge, one of the strongest records of any school in the country.
Opening in Bangkok, August 2026
Wycombe Abbey International School Bangkok opens in August 2026 on a 66-acre campus near Thana City on Bangna-Trad Road, just ten minutes from Suvarnabhumi Airport — among the largest international school sites in the city. The school offers a continuous pathway from Nursery through to Year 13 for pupils aged 2 to 18, with its inaugural year welcoming students from Nursery through to Year 6, growing year on year as the school establishes itself.
Curriculum: IGCSEs and A-Levels, taught by an international teaching staff
The school follows the full British curriculum, leading to IGCSEs and A-Levels, mirroring the academic pathway of the UK campus. Teaching staff are recruited both from the UK and from leading international schools worldwide, and pupils take part in a rich co-curricular programme spanning sport, the arts, music and leadership — designed to develop well-rounded students equipped for a fast-changing global environment, not just strong exam results.
Boarding and pastoral care
Both day and boarding places are available from opening. Dedicated boarding facilities sit just five minutes from the main campus, designed to offer a warm, home-like environment underpinned by close pastoral care — boarding is treated as a central part of the educational model here, intended to build independence, responsibility and leadership within a structured, supportive community, rather than an add-on to day schooling.
World-class facilities on a 66-acre campus
The Bangkok campus includes an Olympic-standard swimming pool, a FIFA-standard football pitch, tennis and golf facilities, basketball courts, a full athletics track, and a 1,000-seat stadium — giving the co-curricular sports programme genuinely elite facilities to work with from day one, rather than growing into them over time.
Part of a growing international network
Wycombe Abbey International School Bangkok is being developed through a partnership between Wycombe Abbey, BE Education and Rabbit Holdings, a subsidiary of BTS Group Holdings. It joins a small but growing family of Wycombe Abbey international campuses that already includes schools in Hong Kong and several cities in mainland China, including Changzhou, Hangzhou and Nanjing — part of a deliberate multi-campus network connecting students across locations through shared academic standards and experiences.
