Rugby School Thailand carries forward the name and ethos of Rugby School in England — one of the world's oldest and most famous schools, and the birthplace of rugby football. Its ethos, “The Whole Person, The Whole Point,” shapes every part of life at Rugby School Thailand: academic rigour sits alongside sport, the arts and character development, not apart from them.
An international campus in the Chonburi countryside
Set on one of Asia's foremost school campuses in the heart of Chonburi, Rugby School Thailand teaches the full UK National Curriculum in English, with additional English language support available. The student body is 60% international and 40% Thai, a mix that keeps the community international rather than dominated by any one nationality.
Selective entry, assessed on more than exam results
Rugby is a selective school. Entrance assessments look at three things: academic ability and potential; talents in other fields such as sport, STEAM or music; and qualities of character and interest. A minimum academic and English level is required, but strength in other areas is also taken into account — in keeping with the “Whole Person” ethos.
Places are limited each intake
Rugby School Thailand admits students across the full age range, but popular year groups fill up well ahead of the August intake. British Learning Centre keeps track of live availability with the school and will let you know exactly where things stand for your child's year group.
Seven Houses, British tradition with a Thai twist
From the day they join, every student aged 2 to 18 becomes part of one of Rugby’s seven Houses — five day Houses and two Senior boarding Houses — each carrying the name and crest of a historic House from Rugby School UK (Bradley, Cotton, Griffin, Kilbracken, Whitelaw, School House and Rupert Brooke), paired with a Thai mythological mascot. Regular House lunches, competitions and celebrations build connections right across the school, on an 80-acre campus with four swimming pools, a 750-seat auditorium and its own Outdoor Education Centre.
How admission works at Rugby
Families apply online, and every child then sits an age-appropriate assessment: a short session with teachers for Pre-Nursery to Year 1; computer-based reasoning, literacy and numeracy tests with a writing task and interview for Years 2 to 8; and exam results, tests and an interview for Years 9 to 12. The school then offers a place, asks for more information, or adds the child to its admissions pool if the year group is full. A place is secured by accepting within 14 days. Children can join Pre-Nursery from 18 months when there are mid-year places.

Yes. Rugby School Thailand is a member of the Rugby School Group: a separate school from Rugby School in England (founded 1567), but part of the same group. It follows an enhanced English National Curriculum from Pre-Prep (ages 2–7) and Prep (7–13) to IGCSE and A Level in the Senior School (13–18).
Children from 2 to 18, from Pre-Nursery to Year 13. Pre-Nursery can start from 18 months when there are mid-year places.
In Khao Mai Kaew, Banglamung, Chonburi, on an 80-acre campus in Wisdom Valley, less than 70 minutes from Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport and about 30 minutes from Pattaya.
Yes. From age 10 (which can be Year 5), students can choose part boarding (up to 3 nights a week), weekly boarding (up to 5 nights) or full boarding (7 nights) in three modern boarding houses with house parents and a matron.

Students typically take 10 IGCSEs, 4 AS Levels and 3 A Levels. In 2026, 30% of A Level grades were A*, 55% were A*–A and 93% were A*–C, with a 100% pass rate. Graduates go on to universities such as Imperial College London, UCL, LSE, King's College London and the University of Cambridge.
Four swimming pools including a 50m competition pool, a 750-seat auditorium, a science centre, a 300m lake for water sports, a golf centre, an indoor climbing wall, four tennis courts and an Outdoor Education Centre, plus 5, 10 and 20 km trails.
Yes. Each year group has a minimum English level, and EAL and Intensive English support are available for students who need to build their English.
