A new St Paul’s campus, strong IGCSE scores, and October open days: week in international schools (22–26 September 2026)

Each Friday we draw together the week’s most useful international-school news for families in Bangkok and on the Eastern Seaboard — openings, results, ownership changes and dates worth putting in the diary. This first instalment covers roughly Monday 22 to Friday 26 September 2026.

Three themes stood out. St Paul’s Girls’ School London opened its first overseas campus on Rama 3. Bangkok Patana School used its 70th anniversary year to publish a strong IGCSE cohort. And October’s calendar is already filling with open days, a holiday camp and the Bangkok International School Gateway Fair — where British Learning Centre will be on hand at booth 74.

Bangkok highlights

SPGS International School Bangkok opens on Rama 3.
St Paul’s Girls’ School has welcomed its founding cohort to a co-educational day school in Bangkok’s Rama 3 district — its first international campus. The 2026/27 intake runs from Nursery to Year 6 under Head of School Leigh O’Hara, with roughly 100 pupils in the first year. Secondary provision, including IGCSE and the IB Diploma, is planned from 2027/28, with capacity eventually approaching 1,700. The campus sits within a large mixed-use development with Country Group Development and offers EYFS and English National Curriculum pathways. For families shortlisting British-curriculum primary places in central Bangkok, it is a new option to weigh alongside other recent UK-linked openings.

Bangkok Patana School marks 70 years with strong IGCSE results.
One of Southeast Asia’s longest-established British-curriculum schools released its 2026 IGCSE figures as part of its 70th anniversary year: 97 per cent of grades at A–C and 64 per cent at A/A, with forty students achieving A* or A across nine or more subjects. In a market crowded with new founding cohorts, those numbers give parents a concrete benchmark when comparing established schools with brand-new campuses.

On 24 September, Shrewsbury International School Bangkok hosted a higher-education panel with admissions staff from the University of Cambridge, Imperial College London and the University of St Andrews — a reminder that UK universities continue to recruit actively among Bangkok’s sixth-formers.

Rugby School Thailand shortlisted again.
Rugby School Thailand is a finalist for British International School of the Year at the Independent Schools of the Year Awards 2026 — its third consecutive year on that shortlist — with winners due in London in mid-October. The school’s new Teepsuwan Theatre is also linked to the Thailand International Youth Orchestra’s inaugural season, underlining how performing arts remain a point of differentiation for some British-curriculum campuses.

Ownership change for four St Andrews campuses (catch-up).
Taylor’s Schools (Malaysia) has acquired four St Andrews International School campuses from Cognita: Sathorn, Dusit and Sukhumvit 107 in Bangkok, plus Green Valley on the Eastern Seaboard. Names, identity and staff remain in place; the group has signalled possible future boarding and outdoor-education investment at Green Valley. The deal was announced earlier in September and remains one of the week’s most consequential pieces of sector context for families already on those campuses — or considering them.

Eastern Seaboard

MIS International School Pattaya publishes IGCSE and AS Level results.
MIS reported 83 per cent of IGCSE grades at A–C and 32 per cent at A–A, alongside standout AS Level performances (including two sixth-formers each awarded four A grades). Separately, Executive Head Dr Connie Kim has set out plans for a Parent Advisory Council and Booster Club, facility upgrades and tailored secondary pathways — a clear push to keep older students on roll as the school develops its senior years.

Regents International School Pattaya opens a half-term camp to local families.
Regents’ first Little Explorers Holiday Camp (12–16 October, ages 1–6, THB 15,000 per week) is open to non-Regents families, with a Curiosity Approach–led programme across forest school, STEAM and outdoor play. Early-years competition in Pattaya is visibly active: MIS is also running its first Early Years Trial Class for ages 1.5–4 on Saturday 24 October (THB 1,500; registration closes 20 October).

St Andrews International School, Green Valley — open day set.
Green Valley has posted a hands-on open day for Friday 30 October, 9.00–11.00am, designed so children take part in real learning experiences rather than a corridor tour alone.
